Today, I wanted revenge on the rabbit who ate my garden's plants. When he returned, he was standing next to my brand new above-ground swimming pool. I pull out my 22. rifle and shot at it, but the bullet missed and popped a hole in my pool. 15,000 gallons of water flooded my basement. FML

Not only did you try to kill it instead of just relocating it, but you tried to justify your shit aim with 'the bullet missed' instead of 'I missed'. This one calls for a YDI unfortunately.

#177 - That was my first thought as well. But, under sufficent water pressure the hole could tear quite fast. Especially off a ricochet?

You do realize that it would be much more efficient to just put up a fence? Then you don't have dead bunny or any other rabbits that might feel like a snack to deal with... or serious water damage and a broken pool. A little time at the shooting range probably wouldn't hurt either.

I totally understand, unfortunately most people wouldn't so I'm not sure posting it online was the best idea. Everyones like "Oh no! Save the cute little bunny eating all your veggies! I bet you were even using fertilizer you bastard! Go organic! Don't eat meat! It's not like we NEED heme iron and animal protein in our diets! If we try hard enough maybe we'll end up with the extra intestines we need to process only plant material..." So they probably won't be sympathetic to your pest control methods.

Oh, please!! Killing a rabbit is no big deal. Animals catch rabbits and eat them alive every day. You think rabbits normally die of old age? Jeez. Yet, YDI for shooting near your pool. Good thing a child wasn't standing near by, since you obviously lack the ability to think ahead.

YDI, because its easy to rabbit proof gardens and such, and theres no real way for you to know that this was the rabbit that was eating from your garden in the first place (unless it was eating out of it as you were Elmer Fudd-ing it around the yard?) Also to those questioning whether or not we kill rats/mice, there are such things as humanitarian traps that you can get to capture animals that are being pests that DONT kill them, and you can just relocate them. Theres no reason for this person to go off and try and kill the wabbit when he simply could have just relocated the animal.

YDI, its a rabbit what do you expect it to do ?

I'm sure the rabbit had it coming, but seriously, lets think gun safety here. Always know your target and what is beyond. Don't go shooting at something if there is something nearby that doesn't react well to bullets. Next time you use a .22 to solve a vermin problem, make sure its a clear shot. Also most jurisdictions have a law against discharging firearms in a residential zone so make sure you aren't breaking the law in the process.
