Today, I wanted revenge on the rabbit who ate my garden's plants. When he returned, he was standing next to my brand new above-ground swimming pool. I pull out my 22. rifle and shot at it, but the bullet missed and popped a hole in my pool. 15,000 gallons of water flooded my basement. FML

Not only did you try to kill it instead of just relocating it, but you tried to justify your shit aim with 'the bullet missed' instead of 'I missed'. This one calls for a YDI unfortunately.

#34.... someones garden isn't a natural food source? Rabbits over populate quickly? You have any idea how many Humans there are on this planet? I think it's safe to say we out number them by far. So what if you're inconvienced? Fences DO work if you're not completely stupid and put it up wrong. Yes it is hypocritical to say "leave the poor bunny alone" and then you go and put up a mouse trap in your house. I personally catch spiders and put them outside. Just because you are bigger then something doesn't mean your life is more important. OP: You got what you deserved. Not just for trying to shoot the Rabbit, but for being stupid enough to not stop and think... hey.... maybe I shouldn't shoot it so close to the pool.

serves you right. Could have put a fence up or something, but noooo, you have to kill the rabbit that was just using survival instincts.

errrmmmmm YDI! Yeh when you read stories like this it's kinda hard to see why Americans are so obsessed with 'the right to bear arms'.

would you people put a sock in it ? stop crapping about how the bunny is an innocent hungry animal. it's a pest and it has to be dealt with... only problem is that it's a job for people who can actually handle a gun... really now, you're lucky the bullet didn't rebound in something more important like...a person

To those saying the OP shouldn't have shot the rabbit. Really? Should the OP have let the rabbit steal all his food and starved to death himself. To those saying a fence will stop rabbits. No. Rabbits can burrow under pretty much any fence. To the OP, you did kind of screw up. You were right to try to kill that pest but everyone knows that the best way to kill a rabbit is not with a 22 rifle but a shotgun loaded with #6.

He was hunting wabbits Classic elmer fudd style

you totally deserved that. seriously? WHY WOULD YOU SHOOT THAT BUNNY just because it messed up your garden. ANIMAL ABUSE

all you mother ******* assholes saying he deserves it for shooting at an "innocent" animal, just shut the **** up. its just a damn rabbit, not like losing 1 will cause the rest of them to go extinct, and those calling ANIMAL ABUSE... wow... learn what the term means; its for abusing an animal that is under your care, aka NOT A WILD ANIMAL. yes the OP deserved the basement flood/ruined pool for trying to jump straight to using a gun instead of putting up a fence. and by saying "the bullet missed"; i mean c'mon dude YOU were aiming, its YOUR fault that YOU couldn't put the bullet where you wanted it. and #89... a fence is better at keeping rabbits out than you think, they're more likely to move to an easier place to get food than to bother with the trouble of digging under one; especially if you put it a few inches in the ground

Serves you right, and #53, you are correct, some people don't. But SOME people do. Why would you want to kill any animal is beyond me. How could you contemplate the fact that you were about to kill an innocent animal!?

Trying to shoot a rabbit isn't the essential problem here. Being a gun-happy American (I presume) who runs for his gun to solve any problem is. Do more to keep the rabbit out of your garden in the first place, or if it's that much of a nuisance set a trap for it.
