Today, I was a TA for a history class and the class was taking a test. About halfway through, I noticed one kid had a small piece of paper in his hand. I ran up the row, grabbed his test, and ripped it into four pieces. Then I took the note from him. It said "I believe in you, -Mom." FML

look before you do anything that drastic god

What the hell is wrong with you?! Why couldn't you go up, and simply ask to see the note?! I can understand worrying about cheating, but that was completely uncalled for! Next time simply tell your students not to have any paper out period. If you kept your job that is. YDI

wow. you're an assuming asshole.

Your an idiot for not even checking to see what it said, don't assume the worse, you deserve it.

I think calling OP an idiot is uncalled for, but your right, OP should have checked

I proctor for exams at my school and I have to say... usually when a student is that obvious about something it's not a bad thing.... I think your reaction was taken way out of proportion! live and learn I guess and make sure this doesn't happen again.

My gosh, have you ever heard the expression "Look before you leap?" Doesn't really go with the situation but it goes with it good enough

You should've confronted him after the test and if he really was cheating, you would tell the teacher.
