Just because he has a fetish for that does not mean he is always going to get what he wants. So just a hypothetical sutuation here, but maybe OP is heavyset and the man thought she was close enough that he found it attractive in an almost similar way that he would find a pregnant woman which led to him being open about his pregnant woman fetish. This is just my guess about the aituation.
