I guess pumps are different in Canada. Here you can choose to fill up (I think it's $100 pre-authorized) or you can choose an amount and the pump will slow down and shut off when you get there. Seems like that would have solved all problems just come up here!

it's actually more expensive (even if just by a little bit because of the processing fee) to pay by card... Cash is the best way if youre not too lazy to just go in the store... which i admit i am sometimes too.
overuse of credit card is no good advise and in this case it's plain lazyness to not malk the couple of meters inside the station
