Today, I was at the mall with my mom, when I saw a little pamphlet about a charity for abused children. I showed her and said I was going to donate a few dollars. She quickly said no, calling it a waste of money and muttering that the kids probably deserved it anyway. FML

Today, I went shopping with my mother, when someone snuck a pack of condoms into our cart while our backs were turned. When we got to the register, my mom, whose wealth makes me ineligible for financial aid, noticed the condoms and she announced that she wasn't paying for the college I got accepted to next year because she doesn't want a promiscuous daughter. FML

If you were going to donate it, she can't say no. It's your money you do with it what you wish, and if you think it's something you should donate some money to then do so.

#13 I'm so sorry that you had to go through that, and I'm sorry that comments like what OP's mother made still has the ability to affect you this strongly. I am so glad that you were adopted by a loving family and I hope that they give you all of the love and hugs that I wish you had received from someone from birth until you were 6.

No child ever deserves to be abused. That's horrible for her to say children are innocent like animals, most of them don't realize what they do is wrong and surely don't do it to annoy/ anger their parents. Abuse is a horrible thing period. Nobody deserves to be put through pain and suffering from another person. Donating to the charity would be amazing of you OP.

what about spanking for discipline. besides, a child's mind is wonderful, they think outside the box, and they know what they are doing subconsciously is wrong, and there is always that feeling that it's not right, but they do it anyways. they do it to test boundaries, to see what rules they can bend. humans are always seeking a way to dominate another. children aren't innocent. I've read about kids who have killed other peoole over things. they know what they do, cause killing is an instinct

some people go to far. but there are those kids who purposly do stuff knowing bad things can happen to them. needling you parent isn't a good thing, but they like doing it.
