Today, I was being interviewed for an amazing job when I was asked what animal I would describe myself as. Trying to be prompt, I picked the first thing that came to me. I responded with, "I'd be a turtle because I'm really slow sometimes." FML

I would have gone with panda, so that they know you're not racist.

Am I the only one wondering what job OP got interviewed for? I mean what kind of an 'amazing job' asks such an irrelevant question?

It's actually a pretty common question for interviews. It's a way to tell your interviewer your skills and abilities and be humble about it at the same time.

It's also a way to throw people off a little and make them think and focus instead of the same basic interview questions. The way someone reacts to something out of the ordinary can be very important to employers.

Yeah no doubt. Never been asked such a silly question.

Hurry hurry has no blessing.

I'd go with mythological and say a dragon. Are you mentally slow or physically slow op?

Says the guy who wouldn't get the job after talking about dragons...

Well I'd only start with dragons I'd move on to unicorns, and pony's and MySpace.

Should have chosen the majestic Llama OP, Llamas are badass.

So you want to be treated like a pack animal and spit In their face?

I would have said human. Humans, being living creatures, are considered animals and are therefore a valid answer to this question. If they specified 'besides humans' then I'd go with a bull.

Did you mean, slow as in your pace, or slow as in your mind?

A spider! Meticulous, patient, and hard-working. Paying exceptional attention to detail, and no qualms about completing tasks on your own :)

Good answer, but they're going to put dead flies in your lunch.

What the **** kind of school did you go to??

I was so happy when many websites started putting up these kinds of stupid questions that can come up in interviews. It's too easy to get thrown off guard by them. Before an interview, I usually make notes on pints I'd like to hit on. I've started including answers to these questions as well.

I'd recommend not mentioning pints during a job interview. Unless you want to be a bartender.

Turtles wasn't a good answer for a job interview because they likely expect high production. Saying "I'm really slow sometimes", was probably the nails in the coffin for this job interview. Live and learn.

#27 *SLAP* You obviously deserved that for stating the obvious so obviously. Down vote.
