That was a shitty thing for you to do. Why on earth would u judge someone like that? It's their money so why wouldn't you give all the change back? I'm sure you wouldn't wan someone to short change you
I understand that the customer looked well off- that does not give you the choice to hold ANY change from her..a penny or otherwise. I've worked in retail a very long time and I would never consider withholding money. If you forgot the penny and shut the drawer it would've been easily forgivable..but you apparently thought that you were doing the right thing by keeping the penny, and that itself is unacceptable. If you were my employee I'd fire you on the spot.
Well if you had done your job properly it wouldn't have happened. ydi
I work at Old Navy. All you had to do was tell her you had no more pennies and then ask if she really wanted/needed the penny. Could have avoided her snapping at you, and you looking like an idiot.

Why in the world would you not give someone correct change because they look rich?
I work as a cashier and you sound ridiculous. Why on earth would you not give her HER OWN MONEY because she looked rich?! Even though it IS only a penny, that is technically stealing, you ****.
