You need a new mom
Dude, that isn't even scientific
buissness idea: adopt a mom
You'll find that a lot of people are either ignorant or insensitive when they hear you're a diabetic OP, but it's an opportunity to educate them when you run into it now. I've been a Type 1 myself now for almost 19 years and am more than willing to be a helping hand if you would like one.
I did a human focused biology degree, diabetes was even one of the diseases we studied and yet I still spent an ungodly amount of time explaining my condition to staff and pupils alike. Actually nearly got me kicked out as staff couldn't accept when it goes wrong it can really mess you up, yet gave an extension out for somebody having a cold. *shrug* TLDR, it's not that bad, people be dumb.
Haha yeah, I've had tons if extensions with work.... high pressure and sugarsido not go well together.
Clearly she knows nothing about diabetes. I'm so sorry op, good luck with her and your diabetes. And why are people voting YDI? It might not be ops fault why he or she has diabetes
Type 1: cannot be OP's fault she has it. Exercise helps in type 2.
Its never your fault that your pancreas stops working. People need to get educated.
Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease; it has nothing to do with lifestyle and is unavoidable. Op will have been born with the antibodies.
*So definitely not OPs fault! There's nothing she could have done to avoid it.
Misconception of walkathons?
Yes although sometimes it can actually mess with blood sugars :/ Being t1 diabetic is hard - especially if you are woman and get pregnant. Source: twin sis has t1. (We are identical but they say it was maybe triggered by a virus or something. Like our genes had the POTENTIAL to get t1 but it was not a certainty).
Oooh I am t1 and my twin doesn't have it! Snap! And yes exercise is much worse forymy sugars than not moving at all :( makes it very hard to stay fit!
You are my twin...
That's terrible advice. Everyone knows the correct treatment is to rub some dirt on it.
I know exactly how that feels.... I get that everyday with diabetes
I feel your pain with that. I've been a type 1 diabetic for almost five years and every time someone finds out they tell me I'm too skinny or that I don't need insulin. I've even gotten lectures from non-diabetics because they knew someone who has diabetic and felt that I wasn't a good diabetic
feel ya. 6 years and apparently I have no idea how diabetic really works..... People can be so stupid and ignorant.
Wait, how is this relevant to this FML?
So many examples of people being grossly ignorant about type 1.
