The presence of a patrolling vehicle always makes people worse drivers, whether they get nervous or are looky-loos paying too much attention.
Maybe you should improve your "performance under pressure" qualities.
ROFL @ #9 Seriously, OP. Don't break the law then complain when you get busted. YDI.
I've done the stop sign while worrying too much about a cop before, but only because cops in our area are jerkwads about minor traffic violations. I'm sure they have quotas to meet- gotta keep the money rollin' in. adding insult to injury, if you were only a week late or so, many states have a grace period the police can acknowledge if they feel like it. Chances are if you hadn't run the sign, the cop would let you off with a warning, if they bothered to stopped you at all. Unless you were expired by a long shot. Then, you really had no excuse driving your car.
#2- If he had killed someone in the crosswalk I'd think he would have more to worry about than three tickets...
I was driving home many years ago. It was around three in the morning. I was approaching a stop light when I saw a cop sitting at the intersection. All my documents were in order, I was sober, but for some reason I panicked a bit, and drove through the red light right in front of him. Panicking even more as he pulled out to follow me, I proceeded to go through the next light, which was also red. He pulled me over, asked me if I knew why, I told him yes. Just then over his radio we both heard something about shots fired in a rough part of town. He let me go with a warning.
he might have been calling in your tags, and was going to pull u over anyway. Dumbass #16, so you were driving home, cop pulls you over and you get lucky cause a more important issue came to the officers attention. Who cares should have gotten a ticket anyway #14 There are no such things as quotas that money doesnt go to the dept, it goes to the city. And ya 9 times out of 10 someone needs a ticket cause people arent smart enough to understand, well what i did was wrong so lets not repeat that action. So a good 150- 300 dollar ticket gets the word across. People dont understand warnings, but they sure as hell understand the punishment when they have to give up money for tickets. #9 Ive seen some of those, They are on Meter maid trucks now in some cities, its very interesting. Im pretty sure they wont take it to law enforcement, since they got a very good computer that is linked up to everything they need, plus they have dispatch.
Also, in most states driving with a expired license is a arrestable offensive :)
#18 your stupid. Cops on patrol, IE State police, Highway Patrol, Metro, whatever WILL do random tag checks, calling it in to see if there is anything wrong. They pull people over for many things, not just felonies. i would say about 7/10 times a traffic violations, which is a infraction, meaning ticket only for those of you who aren't smart to catch on, turns into a felony stop because of drugs or something, and the officer didn't pull them over for drugs or its a stolen car. Simple traffic violation turns into a felony. Most of you don't have a clue about law enforcement, unlike me, and just run your mouth cause you hate them. just STFU unless you know what your talking about.

You were driving with an expired license. You absolutely deserved it. Follow the law. It isn't hard to do.
you'd never get caught for the expired license if you didn't run the stop sign. at least u didn't kill anyone in the crosswalk, cuz then you'd have 3 tickets
