I'm a professional driver with a CDL, what I see is one of three things. Number one it was either not paying attention. Number two he was following too close to stop in time and number three it was just a moron who is trying to push off the blame, no you did nothing wrong
I'm sure the other driver was texting or checking their Facebook status. People are not as good at multi-tasking as they think they are.
