How can you be fired for not having a reliable mode of transportation? Who cares about this anyways if you are not late for work? At my company we are working to make everyone come by bus more often.
English?
I would be sueing. That's like stabbing you and then asking why your bleeding. 🤦
Isn’t the main reason a bus would be unreliable transportation is traffic, the same issue you’d encounter with a car?
As someone in a similar position due to boss’s neglect and ignorance, contact a lawyer IMMEDIATELEY! At least seek advice before doing anything! I am in a different boat than my friends wife because i saw a lawyer right away. She didn’t and she ran out of time on the statute of limitations. This also would be helpful as in the meantime, it will help filing for unemployment income till you find an employer who deserves you. Also (while i am caucasion, i say got for it), if the boss is a different race than you, play the card. It might allow you to use it to settle without going to court because if this is the US, and they are considered an equal opportunity employer, then can be hit massively with penalties. Lastly, if you have co workers willing to vouce for your work, get a written/signed statement about your work ethic. Makes it hard for the boss to slander you when the evidence by others prove opposite.
Sue them.
I'm pretty sure theres more to the story. That seems odd you'd get fired for that.

Sue his son for property and collateral damages, including wage loss. Your ex boss will still be paying for your bills.
Mate, check out labor laws in your area. That ain't right, your ex-boss probably thought getting rid of you would make the problem go away. Don't go away silent. :)
