Realistically it's better to secure a job before you go and make an ass of yourself... ...or just don't make an ass of yourself either way.
Tell him to get a dictionary and look up the word "promotion".
Advance in the opposite direction, lads!
I mean anything is better than a job at mcD
If I'm going to get a promotion, it's probably also going to be like that. Atm I'm working in 3-shifts and the night shift has an extra 4 hours every time. Getting a promotion would mean working in 2-shifts without the additional 4 hours (although the bosses also work more hours, but for the example of working less I'm going to say they don't). Going from 3-shifts to 2-shifts would mean no more night-shifts. Because of the night shifts I earn an additional 15% more (statutes of the kind of work I do). I also don't receive my extra 4 hours during night shift for which I get payed double. So if I were to get a promotion with same pay or small increase, I'd get paid less in total too. It sucks, ambition versus money.
I've had a "promotion" where they increased my responsibilities without increasing my pay. But this is just ridiculous.
You must work at Wal-Mart!
I've had more responsibility added to my title without getting a raise for it but less pay... That's just retarded
Similar thing happened to my mom. They gave her two weeks notice that they were eliminating her position, and gave her two options so she could stay with the company (she can't afford to leave). One of the options was for a position that was being eliminated a month and a half after her position. She chose the position that makes more, but still significantly less than what she was making. She ended up taking a $10,000 cut in pay. Oh, and they gave her only 2 or 3 days to decide what she wanted to do. But ANYWAY, I would start looking for a new job, OP. That really sucks. Good luck!
isn't that a demotion op I'm not trying to be rude
