Today, I was in a car accident on the way to work. I called my boss and told him I had to deal with the police and the accident report and didn't know how long it would take. He got mad and said I "should have picked a better time to do this". FML

"Sorry my car wreck was inconvenient for you. I will be sure to schedule my next accident better in the future."

I don't understand how bosses think such things can even be controlled.

Sheesh, OP. You're so inconsiderate. I bet you're one of those people who schedules your heart attack right after lunch just to get out of work early. Goodness, you're lazy. People with a good work ethic always have their emergencies on weekends.

That's like when my boss gets mad about there not being enough people to work if I call off sick. As if I planned to be sick that day just to inconvienance everyone.

What's even better is when it's one of those places that hire JUST enough people or stay short staffed and run with a skeleton crew and they NEVER have enough people to cover when someone calls out. It's like, do they expect all their employees to never have an emergency or get sick? I understand employees cost money but employing just enough people to get the job done without any extra people to cover normally causes more trouble than it's worth and they end up having to pay their "just enough crew" overtime anyway.

Exactly how it is at my work, we have 18 people right now to run our entire restaurant (We need about 30 to comfortably run it). Pretty much half of us have to work doubles the whole week just to make sure we have enough people. On the bright side, overtime pay is really nice.

Maybe he should pick a better time to be a dick

Sorry that my car crash was inconvenient to your schedule

Similar thing happened to my boyfriend today. On his way to work he got a flat, and would be late. When calling to inform the manager of this, they hung up on him frustrated MULTIPLE times. Professionalism at its finest.

Honestly OP, that was inconsiderate of you to choose to be in an accident. That was inconvenient for your boss.
