Today, I was in class when someone came in with a rose for me. My teacher made me read the card aloud: "I'm breaking up with you, happy Valentine's." It was from my boyfriend. FML

Today, I sent a guy in my English class a rose. He's kind of an outcast, so I though it would be a nice gesture. I asked him later how his day was going and he said, "Good. I got a rose this morning, but I could tell it was from a guy. The handwriting was awful." FML

Today, I had an art class with my girlfriend. The teacher assigned "anti-cards", or cards for unusual or bad occasions. My girlfriend decided to make a "break-up" card, and I helped her write the poem inside it. After class, she gave it to me. FML

why would the teacher insist you read it out loud to the class? it's your own note and as long as you put if away to read later, it shouldn't have been a problem.

That violated your privacy in the most inappropriate of ways. He should be reported to the principal, who can hopefully give him a training on "setting and enforcing healthy boundaries with your students."
