As someone who used to give campus tours I tend to fall in the YDI camp. Beyond the points other have made about the judgmental comment, I learned early on not to interact with students outside of my group when giving a tour. It opens up too many opportunities for them to troll you or your group. By saying something to her you also brought a lot more attention to her compared to if you had just ignored her. But you do have my sympathy. I had a couple tour fumbles myself.
