aww! how do you know it was just to laugh at you? if you were on an actual road, rather than a back road or parking lot, you may have been a danger to yourself and others if you're not ready. driving a stick is difficult at first, I did it just a few months ago. But you'll be comfortable in weeks and it will be second nature soon enough. good luck!

You probably looked completely insane trying to drive a stick -- if you used a broom, at least you could have said you were getting ready for Quidditch season. My dad ditched me at an abandoned airport to let me teach myself how to drive a stick-shift. I'm sure the bucking, stalling and screeching tires would have been amusing to local law enforcement.

He was probably laughing cause either 1.) he remembers when HE was learning stick 2.) he's a total joker and it's a part of his nature or 3.) he had a bad day and wanted a laugh.... Just an idea :)

fyi everyone. it's not "i learned to drive stick." proper english would be "i learned to drive a stick." or if you wanna get technical it's a manual transmission.

Hahaha this happened to me too! I was stuck at a stop sign for ages because I kept stalling the car, and one of the cars that drove around me was a cop, who just laaaaauuughed
