phamacology 101 all drugs have a generic (aka real name) and a trade name it is only the real name that is important if you want to buy a pair of blue jeans you can go to walmart and buy theirs or you can go to levi's and buy a pair. end of the day you own a pair of blue jeans! drugs are the same thing oxycontin is the trade name for slow release oxycodone. vicodin is the trade name for immediate release oxycodone. neither is stronger than the other, the difference is how fast it hits you. if you take 10mg of vicodin in 4hrs time you'll need more. if you take 10mg of oxycontin in 18hrs time you'll need more. but you've still only had 10mg of oxycodone for the record, they put fillers into oxycontin that tends to give you great big weeping abcesses if you try to cook it up and inject it. and because its slow release, it actually works better if you SWALLOW it. and only a moron would think a drug company would take the entire drug line off the market because junkies were abusing it.
your very off. oxycontin is time release oxycodone with no fillers. oxycodone pills are percocet, percoden, roxidone, etc, and (except for oxycontin) all have fillers like APAP or ibuprofen vicodin is hydrocodone, not oxycodone. its about as potent as oxycodone, however pretty much all hydrocodone pills contain less than oxycodone pills, and are for less serious pain, like wisdom teeth. hydromorphone and oxymorphone is pretty much the king of synthetic pain killers, and are right up there with morphine and i suppose you could say with heroine. they are hard to come by, because doctors dont just hand them out to anyone. all are very addictive. any time release form of the drug is bound to be more addictive because its the pure form of the drug. fillers complicated many processes, like snorting and injecting. the fillers are not water soluable. so if you snort that you get a nose full of tylenol that wont go away, or a vein full of powder. your son has some connections. shouldnt really be hard to find out. does he have any friends he talks about or goes to see that you dont know? does he leave for odd durations of time? spend long hours alone in his room? remember, these are powerful painkillers so the effects should be noticeable if you really pay attention. If he stares off into the distance a lot, maybe has trouble walking, or looks like a weeble that wont fall down thats a tell tail sign. the drug is going to make him just, content. if he seems distant, overly distant, that would be why. or depressed and angry at times, as that would be a sign hes addicted, and cannot get the drug. and the biggest sign, that he will never be able to hid no matter how sneaky he is, is his pupils. pain killers make your pupils really small. i mean REALLY small, small enough that if you look at them you could tell something wasnt right, because they would never get that small naturally. how old is he. if hes younger than 17 or 18 your about to have a real problem on your hands. if hes about 17 i honestly wouldnt consider recreational drug use a problem, its just experimentation, maybe a little broadening of his horizons. BUT injecting is way past recreational drug use. its basically instant addiction. it doesnt take more than a few times to crave the shit. you need to put a stop to hard drug use. buy him pot instead :)
You're mistaking "fillers" for meaning ONLY tylenol, ibuprofen, etc. Fillers also refers to the inactive-powders - such as sand, baking powder, etc - used to press and retain pill form. Capsules are filler free, aside from the gelatin used to make the casing - but all tablets have a filler. Otherwise, 100% correct.
Wall of text ftw.
Vicodin is hydrocodone
Hey get off FML and help your son.
cool story
Ugh. Good luck, dear. You might start attending the NarcAnon for family members to learn coping strategies and how to see through the bullshit he'll undoubtedly be flinging at you. Hope it works out for you.
How do you even know if he was involved in the discussions or just browsing? If you're stalking his internet activity that's just damn creepy and probably why your son is on opiates in the first place.
Agreed. Looking at an internet site about a drug does not in any way mean he is doing it. Also, I sure hope you had a damn good reason for invading your son's privacy.
oi dipsh ts she found it by accident, she was looking for a website she had visited, couldn't remember the address so went to the history. that not snooping

Oxycodone is not a form of heroin, and neither is methadone. Methadone is used to give heroin addicts the same feeling as heroin, and the feeling goes away after the first use. Oxycodone is a pain reliever that is one molecule away from being heroin. At least he's not doing Heroin. I've done Oxycodone, and methadone. it's not bad, as in it's not that addicting or fun. If you pm me ill gladly explain to you what to do, and to help.
And how old is that sonny of yours?
