Today, I was mugged while on my way to the bookstore. I'd saved up for months to make a mega-purchase of study materials for my major, only for it to be taken away in a few seconds by some lowlife thug. FML

It doesnt matter what OP coulda or shoulda done, there are a lot of reasons why they were carrying cash instead of having it in a bank or prepaid card the fact of the matter is they had cash and got mugged now they are screwed cause they can't buy the shit they need for school, if it was me i'd be pissed. Those of you that say YDI are asshats

The guy was mugged, or did everyone miss that point? Whether he waved the money around on the street makes no difference at all. Someone committed an illegal act against him and if you think that's justified, then you're just part of the problem this guy faced today, because in your world, you can justify wronging another. I could draw many parallels here, but ultimately, there are no grey areas when it comes to honesty and justice. I'm sure I won't be the last who says, FYL to the OP because he did not deserve this.

How is having a gun in a holster going to help when someone is holding a knife to your throat or has a gun to your head? Most people trained in unarmed CQC would avoid this type of confrontation through compliance and only engage the attacker if absolutely necessary. So, I'd like to know how the Second Amendment would have helped you in this situation.

What if he was carrying $100? It's not unlikely as there are a lot of low-income earners and people living below the poverty line. You'll deserve it when you get mugged and don't have any cash to hand over and get stabbed instead.. :)
