You couldn't lift yourself up? If you want to be a kayaker you are going to have to be stronger. You deserve it (YDI).
Rowing and kayaking are two completely different things. Rowing is more competitive and you generally have to exercise and practice way more.
If you are using an indoor rowing machine (in the rowing world they are called ergs) you use your legs much more than your arms, if you are doing it correctly. So kayaking has nothing to do with this, as you solely your arms while kayaking
That happened to me...my coach had to help me up but I thought it was funny when it happened
