Today, I was on a train. An elderly woman and her daughter got on, looking for a seat. The daughter suggested the one next to mine. The elderly woman looked at me and said something in Russian. I speak some Russian. She said she didn't want to "sit by the hooker." FML

You should've said something in Russian right back. Very rude of her.

In Soviet Russia, train rides you.

You definitely deserve It for dressing like a hooker, wear some clothes i agree with DocBastard leave something to the imagination !

Oh, I see. So you were there, and could see her outfit? No? Then shut the hell up. For all you or DocBastard know, she could have been dressed in a very conservative outfit. Elderly people and people from other nations (both of which the lady was,) have different ideas of what's considered appropriate or inappropriate clothing.

Or she was cranky because she didn't have her morning coffee ( or vodka. Who knows?)

If people actually knew what conservative clothing was they would know when seniors and foreigners were likely to judge their outfits as scandalous. I've been all over the world and the prostitute's "uniform" is pretty much standardized.

Are people's perceptions and preconceptions "standardized" too? Of course not. So, you can't assume that OP was wearing a "prostitute's uniform" just because someone said she looked like a hooker. People see and interpret things in different ways.

Yeah kitsune, I'm sure the old lady saw jeans and a sweatshirt and thought "prostitute". You think Russian prostitutes dress differently than American ones? I don't ******* think so. Get your head out of your ass and realise that OP was probably just dressed provocatively.

you say you speak SOME Russian. maybe you got it wrong and she actually said she doesn't want to sit near stinky.

While the girl probably didn't have many clothes on, old people's perception of clothing is so different compared to ours. Just take the seat, in my opinion.

I would have given her the middle finger had I known she said that... Bitch.

Are you a hooker? If so, YDI for being one. If not, YDI for dressing like one.

The daughter probably was embarrassed, I take my gran to most of the places she needs to go & elderly people think they can say whatever they want. Being old doesn't justify being rude, but cursing out someone's grandma won't make you feel any better either.

26- I know how you feel my grandma is the same exact way! She told my sister and that we looked like "*****" but it got excused by my mother as being her being "elderly" Bullshit. ( sorry for the true life story )

@27 Exactly. Also, on top of both those things, elderly people say weird things all the time.

That was very crude of her, and she shouldn't have been talking about you like you couldn't hear her. If you were dressed in appropriate clothing, then I feel very bad for you. It goes the other way, too, because if you were dressed like most girls do now, then I'd say you deserve it. Now, women tend to wedge themselves in tight clothes like sausages, constantly have to readjust to keep their various cracks hidden because the clothes never fit right, wear shorts so short they are lingerie, wear tights as if they are pants, get constant yeast infections from wearing jeans that cling to their crotch clams, and wear see-through clothing. I can honestly see why the elderly lady would have said something if you were wearing any of that. Otherwise, FYL.

Well said!! Young girls need to learn that it's nigh on impossible for people to see waaay too much crackage in public while simultaneously respecting you. Cover up - show dignity, not desperation!

Are you sure, since you only speak some you could have misunderstood. I know a tiny bit of Arabic and done Spanish. I don't understand and mishear people a lot. Can't say YDI or FYL because you didn't say what you where wearing.
