Awh maaan, i feel your pain! I've been lost on those trams many a time when I lived in St Kilda! I must have spent like 3 hours riding round trams till I gave up and spent 26 dollars on a taxi home haha. i never did figure them out! Did you get your bag back?
ooh that sucks
No good deed goes unpunished. Hopefully by bag you meant something you had just bought and can replace, as opposed to a purse, with your wallet and ID and credit cards and all in it. Because the latter's a -huge- pain to deal with. But good on you for helping an elderly lady. I'm sure she appreciated it.
Is anyone else completely sick of these "I was helping a little old lady when I lost my wallet/keys/expensive object that I willingly left unattended in a crowded area" FMLs?
No, there's no such thing as karma ¬¬
Yes there is. Karma is the strongest thing going.
haven't there been, like, 5 fmls like this? if not more?
No good deed goes unpunished, I'm afraid.

why is it that when someone does something nice bad things happen in return?
