Today, I was out with my dog, who loves to bury things. He had recently torn apart his toy and buried it in the sand. I saw a piece of it sticking out of the ground, so I picked it up. It turns out that I was not holding his toy, but rather a dead bat. FML

Well I miss read it, but I wasn't ridiculing op, I just though "rather dead" was an interesting way of phrasing it, in fact I rather liked it, I was just saying when you take it literally it could be funny (in the right light) Also "he/him"? I'm sorry do I look like a guy? Because my hat isn't exactly masculine, the make-up surely isn't, my face has rounder features as opposed to the sharper ones common on males, and my profile says miss Good job on the reading. Double jeopardy irony! :D

Watch for your dog to act funny. Lots of bats have rabies.

There is no way to "check" your dog for rabies other than confinement. You should get the series as well since you handled the bat. They can transmit rabies very easily.
