Today, I was passing notes in class with my crush. I started to pour my heart out and tell him about how I've liked him for years. I was caught by the teacher. He looked at it, laughed, and tore it up. He then looked at me and said, "I just saved you from years of embarrassment. You're welcome." FML

Think of it in a good way; maybe he did. Studies show that the average "crush" lasts for 4-6 month.

Well.. at least he didn't read it out loud in front of the class. That would've been way more embarrassing.

Shoot! My past teachers used to read all notes out loud to the whole class. That was the best way to stop us from doing it.

Report it to the principal or drop the class

yes, report it to the principle that OP was breaking a rule and the teacher let OP off easy. Maybe the principle will correct the teachers misdeed and give OP detention.

If you come on too strong like that you risk scaring the guy off, especially if you use the word, "love". That sort of heartfelt confession is best saved for, say, your one year anniversary. Your teacher wasn't exactly nice in execution, but he was right. YDI, and FYL.

I completely agree. Pouring your heart out to a guy and telling him you've liked him for years would probably scare him off. He might not have really had a chance to develop feelings for you yet and may be debating on whether or not to go there. If you just pour all that on him, he may back off before things even start. Better off to just see if he wants to go see a movie sometime.
