Today, I was prescribed anti-anxiety medication due to the high level of stress that I experience at my job. Unfortunately, I cannot afford the medication because I do not make enough money at said job. FML

As a student mental health nurse I would be careful with anti-anxiety medication, typically they are benzodiazepines which can be addictive. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is a clinically proven way of reducing it without the need for medication. You don't need an expensive therapist either, it can be done online.

ask for a generic. I did that and the dr. wrote me another prescription. my medicine went from $487.50 to $4.00. the $4 Rx works as well as the others.

That really sucks. I'm sorry. I feel your pain. I know what you are going through.

I hate reading these FMLs about people with shitty jobs who have panic attacks at them and get fired or in trouble. If your job is that shitty, there's no way it can be that stressful. working in customer service in retail, like grow up... everything is going to get a lot harder and more stressful the older you get, so you might as well toughen up early. Even if a customer is giving you unfair hostility, all you can do is tell them how things are done and that they have to deal with that. The pussification of America continues, panic attacks!! ack! be strong you fools

I work at a customer service job even though I get very anxious in social situations (I have social anxiety). And yet...That doesn't stop me from going to work every day, putting on a brave face, and doing the best I can. Not everyone who has panic attacks is a pussy, and not every crappy job is free of stress. Don't condemn people for having conditions that you clearly know nothing about.

Wow, 155, you sure know your shit. I was diagnosed with anxiety along with some horrible depersonalisation. While having panic attacks for no reason (past anxiety), there was no way of controlling them without medication. It's chemical imbalance in the brain. Don't comment when you know nothing of the brain and mental disorders.

A lot of insurance plans don't include prescription coverage, especially if OP is a part time employee.

your job should not cost you your health. get a job you like.
