Today, I was riding on my bike when a guy on the street shouted, "I LOVE YOU!" at me. I recently told my boyfriend I loved him, and his response was, "I don't love you but I won't treat you any differently." Perverts on the street love me, but my boyfriend doesn't. FML

The person on the street was just a random crazy and your boyfriend doesn't have to love you. In fact, what bothers me the most is when people say "I love you" just because they're in a relationship... even if they aren't really in love. #1, her boyfriend isn't an ass for telling the truth. AND he said he won't treat her any differently. He sounds like a gem.

At least he didn't lie to you. When my boyfriend first told me he loved me, I told him I couldn't say it back just yet. You shouldn't think that way. Let him say it when he actually feels that way for you. Love is not just a feeling, it's a decision. P.S. I love Myles Biedrzycki!

Why are so many people acting as if her boyfriend is at fault here? "Fear of commitment"? Bullshit. OP, be glad he's not just lying to you to make you happy. If he doesn't love you right now, then so be it. I feel sorry for him for having such a selfish girlfriend.

I know exactly how you feel, my bf is the same way and I agree with #2. If you've got a good thing going on with him, then enjoy it for what it is and respect the fact that he isn't one of those guys who spews "I love you" without really meaning it.

I agree with #10. :) Don't worry hun. I was in the same position. He didn't say it cus he isn't sure what it's supposed to be or feel like. And I didn't pressure him either. He said it to me a week later though.
