Today, I was shopping at Shoppers Drug Mart with my mom. As we pulled up to the cashier, I noticed it was a really hot girl from my school. Trying to be cool, I told my mom that I'll be paying for the purchases. My debit card was denied. My mom had to pay. FML

YDI, You should keep better track of your finances.

How does this impress a woman? You saying all women only love money? Well it's true to a certain point.

It's a debit card to all the people who are saying 'it's ok because it's a credit card and the bank can mess it up.' No it is not a CREDIT card it is a DEBIT card. Huge difference! Yes the bank can mess up a credit card purchase, but only YOU can mess up a debit card purchase. You should know and keep track of all your purchases and how much you have left in your debit card!

why do people feel the need to add the actual word "sarcasm" to their post when being sarcastic thats like me going: Hey what do you call a cow with no legs? GROUND beef /Joke heres a basic rule: If the person reading doesnt understand that your being sacastic one of two things is happening. Either 1. you fail at the art of sarcasm or 2. the reader is an idiot.

hahahaha!!! y would u shop with ur mom???

wow YDI totally. and #33 Debit cards do get denied on occasion. So maybe you should check your facts before posting and calling the OP a liar.

#33, perhaps you're the one who should check your facts before you post. Debit cards can be declined. Maybe your bank likes to charge you overdraft fees, but I've had plenty of customers come in over the years, try to pay with debit, and get the dreaded 'Insufficient funds' message. It can and does happen. Often. And to all those being hard on the OP about not keeping track of his finances- we don't all keep track of every last penny... What if the total bill was $26.73, and he only had $24.50 left in his account? He may have had an idea of how much money he had left, but overshot by just a couple of dollars. Although, I have to agree- you were shopping with your Mom. I'm not sure there would've been much you could've done to impress a girl given that fact...Unless it was Mother's Day or something...
