I run an Italian restaurant/pizzeria. At least you tried to pretend you got the name. My counter girls would have just said ok (fill in random name they thought the person looked like) and send the order back. Then I come up to give food to guest..calling out wrong name

Ahahaha this happened to me pretty often when I was working at pizza hut. One of my favorites, the name was "hill" and I couldn't hear what she was saying over the phone, so like you, I asked her how to spell it. And she was like "Hill... Like, a small mountain." She wasn't being rude about it, and laughed with me when I told her I couldn't hear what she was saying, but shit like this happened all the time. Gotta love customer service.

What's even funnier? That was my order you took.

I had to ask someone to repeat themselves twice the other day and she finally said "wow it must be really loud back there" and I had to fight the urge to say "no, you're whispering while facing the other direction"

Shit like that happens everywhere lol.
