No matter how much you claim to hate drama, if it keeps following you around, you're at least letting yourself get involved. You may even be causing it. Talking about drama has never resulted in less drama. I think the boyfriend had the better response.

OP was not causing drama, she was venting to her boyfriend as a way of dealing with stress, as she should be able to do without it causing more drama, or having her boyfriend act like a jerk. If your girlfriend is venting to you about whatever is stressing her out starting to ********** next to her is absolutely the wrong response.
