Just do it. It's your wedding not hers
Tell her she copied someone else??
Sarcasm much?
Get as many photos of her wedding as possible and try to copy it exactly. Tell everyone else you're doing it to honor her. Maybe that'll teach her not to try to run your life.
Tell her you're having it at a cemetery, wearing a spandex black dress, carrying dead marigolds.
In the 1920's, the cost of a wedding was around $5000 in today's dollars, mostly because real GDP was lower. Today, it's around $30,000 dollars, because you obviously can't be happy for only $5000. $30,000 is the cost of a really good car, or of student loans, or of 10 amazing vacations, or (god forbid) of feeding hundreds of children. All of this blown away in a single day of conspicuous consumption, because obviously, showing off is more important than paying off your debts, helping the poor, visiting exotic locations, or having fun with your spouse. Forgive me for being cynical about the "traditional" wedding with white dresses, roses, a church, and 200 guests.
Ur mother-in-law tot she was the first to had this kind of wedding
Screw her this is your day not hers and she needs to get over that.
Remember, she also probably invited her future MiL to the wedding. You wouldn't want to copy her...

She also forgot to mention that you're not allowed to invite your future mother-in-law to the wedding. That'd be copying her too.
wow. sheesh. something tells me she might not approve of you marrying her son. not your fault though, OP. FYL!
