Today, I was texting while making dinner. I went to pour the noodles into the boiling water and I dropped my phone in. Not thinking, I went to retrieve it from the water. I now have a completely useless phone and a useless hand. FML

YDI for using your phone over a vat of boiling hot water, and not thinking for that split second as to whether or not you should reach in and get it. People shouldn't be allowed to multitask when it comes to texting.

Some people are just complete idiots on many levels.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is only one of the many reasons why texting is only for douches.

OP, and you expect sympathy? Please don't procreate.

OP acts on reflexes while multitasking. You come to the comments section to make unoriginal and overused remarks about others right to procreate. Pretty sure I know who'd I rather keep out of the gene pool.

LOL, sounds like something I've done in the past...FYL.

Gotta agree with #34, reflexes just take over sometimes--its how the brain works. FYL OP, burns on the hand suck. I once spilled soup all over my hand and it burned like hell for days.

I burned my hands before. but that's cause we use dish rags and not oven mits, and my mom nags a lot and a I dropped the towels yelling at her, picked up two pans at 425F the smell of cooking flesh is not a good smell. but op, for the love of god, put the phone down for two seconds and pay attention, you do not need to be on a phone all the time. when walking, cooking doing anything important, including school focus, you were working with hot water and a flame, there are three ways to get burned (flame water steam) so you need to have full attention when working with that. I hope you learned something. the text could have waited a few seconds. also when walking yes people say they can see in their peripheral vision but I see so many people run into poles carts, cars, and walks while texting. this is a simple case of pay attention. now have fun reflecting with out your phone.

The OP is anonymous, yet I'm fairly certain the OP is a woman. Who the hell texts while cooking? No guy that I know ever does that. Only women feel the need to text their thoughts and feelings as they happen, regardless of what they're doing at the time. C'mon people! A little bit of common sense please?

u missed out 1 more thing... useless brain as well... add that in... triple FML

Lol something like that is bound to happen while texting and doing something else. I've done shit like that plenty of times
