Today, I was texting while making dinner. I went to pour the noodles into the boiling water and I dropped my phone in. Not thinking, I went to retrieve it from the water. I now have a completely useless phone and a useless hand. FML

Today, I was checking my phone while using the toilet. In a distressing moment of my brain mixing up the signals to my hands, I dropped my phone into the bowl and pressed my thumb into the shitty paper to turn it off. FML

Today, I was making Cup Noodles for breakfast. After microwaving it for 3 minutes, I carefully grabbed the cup to pour some water out, but my hand gave out and some water spilled on it. Now I have a burned hand and no noodles. FML

Today, I was in my hot tub with my brand new phone. I set it down and when I grabbed my towel I knocked it into the water. I quickly snatched it up and dried it off with the towel and suprisingly only one button stopped working. It was the unlock button, a perfectly good phone that I can't use. FML

Today, my fancy rubber phone case did its job and saved my phone from damage when I dropped it on the bathroom counter. Unfortunately, it was rather useless after the massive bounce it took before landing in the toilet. FML

YDI for using your phone over a vat of boiling hot water, and not thinking for that split second as to whether or not you should reach in and get it. People shouldn't be allowed to multitask when it comes to texting.

Something similar happened at my parents' restaurant once. A dumbshit cook dropped some tongs in the DEEP FRYER, then stuck his hand in to fish 'em out. Then he milked his workman's comp. He didn't last long once back on the job.

I sympathize. I usually cook relatively healthy food, but one time I decided to try deep frying with an inch or so of oil in a pan. Like an idiot, I flipped the battered fish like a pancake. It was one of those situations where I realized what a terrible idea it was as I was doing it, but too late to stop. The oil splashed onto my hand and forearm. Hurt like a bitch. So while you probably deserved it, and I'm sure I deserved it, I clicked "FYL" out of sympathy and because I'd be a hypocrite for blaming you after what I did! Here's to a quick recovery :-)

YDI. Something similar happened to me, with my DS; I was playing my DS while on the toi-toi, and I had set it on the counter. When I got up, I accidently knocked it into the toilet. I had to rebuy the DS ($130) AND the $35 game that was inside of it at the time. Now, I know to never bring electronics into the bathroom again. XD I learned an expensive lesson, and it was completely my fault.
