Today, I was texting while making dinner. I went to pour the noodles into the boiling water and I dropped my phone in. Not thinking, I went to retrieve it from the water. I now have a completely useless phone and a useless hand. FML

Today, I was checking my phone while using the toilet. In a distressing moment of my brain mixing up the signals to my hands, I dropped my phone into the bowl and pressed my thumb into the shitty paper to turn it off. FML

Today, I was making Cup Noodles for breakfast. After microwaving it for 3 minutes, I carefully grabbed the cup to pour some water out, but my hand gave out and some water spilled on it. Now I have a burned hand and no noodles. FML

Today, I dropped my phone in the frying pan whilst cooking my steak. I had to rinse off the oil immediately and clean the phone, then had to eat a cold steak. FML

Today, I was in my hot tub with my brand new phone. I set it down and when I grabbed my towel I knocked it into the water. I quickly snatched it up and dried it off with the towel and suprisingly only one button stopped working. It was the unlock button, a perfectly good phone that I can't use. FML

Today, my fancy rubber phone case did its job and saved my phone from damage when I dropped it on the bathroom counter. Unfortunately, it was rather useless after the massive bounce it took before landing in the toilet. FML

YDI for using your phone over a vat of boiling hot water, and not thinking for that split second as to whether or not you should reach in and get it. People shouldn't be allowed to multitask when it comes to texting.

Not really...for the sake of electronics, people forget themselves a little. I sprained my ankle to save my computer once, and my doctor chastised me. But his bill was two or three hundred. Had the screen cracked, my computer would have been far more than.

lul parents rarely text. my dad used to for work, but the second all the young people got laid off he stopped texting. if I text either or my parents or my friends parents they just call me. most parents don't text.

Well, it's the kind of dumb mistake anybody could probably make, but it's still a YDI. You really shouldn't be texting while you cook. That's a pretty foolish way to prompt an accident. What's worse is the fact that you'll have to pay full price for a new phone.
