Today, I was trying to clean the belt of my register at work at a grocery store. I noticed two strips of rubber stuck in the corner of the belt, and after pulling on them periodically all morning one finally came loose. It was a foot. I had been pulling at a dead rat trapped in the belt. FML

this isn't an FML. this is an F- my day. "Today, I had to spend all morning pulling a dead rat out of my conveyer belt at my cashier station." FMD

YAY A YUMMY SNACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do not believe how everyone here can comment about this and not only say this reeks of bs. How many people have seen how big a rat is? Not a small mouse but a rat which when living in the wild small ones are generally close to a foot, longer overall with tail.I don't see that rat getting caught in the belt and simply being stuck in a corner. These posts are just ridiculous to try and get put up. Come on.

Um, no. A small one would be about half that. A huge one would be more like a foot long, nose to rump. Unless you're thinking of a Gambian Giant Pouched Rat, of course, then a small one would be about a foot. :P But yeah, no way would a rat get caught there. If this is real, she, like most people, doesn't know the difference between rats and mice and just said rat to make it seem nastier.

that is proper gross!! I feel so sorry 4 u , but u must have noticed that the piece of ruber had toes?

It's a rat. Get over it. Some people eat rats for breakfast.

Just because that's true (and you have no idea how much I've wanted to try rat), it doesn't mean it's not nasty to find a rat (though it's more likely that it was a mouse) stuck dead to a register belt.

Can you tell me what grocery store you work at so I remember to not go there?

I hope you washed your hands before bagging any groceries.

Holy crap, how'd something as big as a rat get stuck there? You sure it wasn't a mouse?
