Today, I was waiting for my wife in a mall when some kids came and sat near me, wearing band t-shirts. I recognized some, as I was into The Smiths and Black Flag in my youth. I tried to strike up a music-fan chat with them. "Fuck off, grandad" and "Ew, pedo" is all I got in return. FML

I seriously doubt they knew the bands anyway. Like all the stoners with the Bob Marley shirts.

You tried your hardest to fit in with society, if I was you, I would just go live in a cave!

It's funny when I see scene kids wearing band shirts for Slayer, Iron Maiden, and any mentioned in comments above me. 9 times out of 10, I'll ask them to name 3 albums or most of the band members, and they can't even do that! Tis a shame they only wear a band shirt for looks instead of to support the bands they love

I got to see an amazing Maiden show in June :)

Hell Awaits, Reign In Blood, South of Hevan & i know the lead singer is Tom Araya. i like Slayer :)

#46- I'm actually in the middle of listening to Hell Awaits right now. I'm currently on Praise of Death. So far it's beating out my favorite Slayer record, Show No Mercy. Now time to stop before I write a whole review...

0- Sid Wilson 1- Joey Jordison 2- Paul Grey 3- Chris Fehn 4- Jim Root 5- Craig Jones 6- Clown 7- Mick Thompson 8- Corey Taylor Plus, I'd like to mention Anders Colsefni, Slipknot's original singer. I don't care if I'm not being funny or if I get downvotes... this guy deserves more credit. He is very over-looked. Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat was a great album and it's sad that most Slipknot fans don't know it. But then again, most of their fans only know the singles... sadly. Damn, this FML is pissing me off, but I keep coming back!

To be fair, there's a reason why I wear t-shirts from other bands than my top favorites. I only buy band t-shirts at gigs, and most of the gigs I go to are not the big expensive household names mentioned in this thread, but veterans like Stiff Little Fingers or local heroes like Bettie Serveert. You could call that being cheap. I call that supporting the musicians who need it most.

I am all so proud of you all for knowing your music!! T_T

Black flag is one of the greatest punk bands.

Honestly, some kids are so rude. I love meeting people with the same music interest as me, OP.

They were probably just trying to be funny... Idiots. I'm so ashamed of my generation.

Those are just some punks. I'm 21 and if a nice older person tried to talk to me about music.. I'd be pumped. Because I'm not a punk.:) their loss, you probably know more then they do.

*looks at username* best keep your mouth shut when talking to kids these days... They don't care about your youth days... you should have yelled back at them... Seriously.

Your comment : The 'older generation' complaining about 'the younger generation' needs to remember who raised it.

I'm sorry for changing the subject, and I'm asking you in the most polite way possible, but why do you always start off your comments with "Your comment." I'm legitimately curious.
