I would feel uncomfortable if I were hanging at the mall with my friends and an older man (pretty much 28 years and up) came over and tried to chat with us. I wouldn't be as blunt as they were, but I would probably end the conversation pretty quickly and head on my way.

Even as a teen, if an older adult stuck up a conversation I would talk to them and not think once if there were a pedophile (or the term used for minors past puberty). Of course if they were talking about something inappropriate I would leave. It's so sad that parents are passing their fears onto their children. Soon there will be laws that no adults can talk to kids under 18. This is so ridiculous. Just because an adult talks to a child doesn't mean they sick and looking for victims. Of course young child shouldn't be talking to strangers, but teenagers? By then they should know if the conversation is becoming uncomfortable then they need to tell a trusted adult. I see a lot of comments from teens here that say they would be uncomfortable with an adult talking to them. What has the media and parents done to these kids?! They're scared of the world now. They think that every adult is a pedo preying on them. Idiotic society we live in.

Well what do you expect, these kids were brought up in the world of 'stranger danger' all they ever hear about is old men being perverts. Blame the parents, oh and if you had gone up to kids in the 70's asking about Elvis and the Beatles I bet they would have been rude too
