I mean, I only tip if the service is phenominal, when I go I'm only planning to pay for food , not extra to pay someone for doing their job.
I see a lot of negative posts on here about how tipping isn't necessary. You morons do realize that to keep food costs down they augment waitstaff's pay with tipping. Educate yourself on the issue before you decide "oh I'm going to go get great service for a great price and not tip my underpaid server". Dicks.
Personally if a waiter is hinting about tips to me it makes me want to tip them less. I'm not a dick, I tip over the suggested amount in most cases (unless service is complete shit) but I don't appreciate when a waiter/waitress expects a big tip and hints at it. Also, before being a dick you should educate yourself on the fact that not everyplace does this and not every state allows it. Also I have to say, he deserved this...
Waitresses in Canada get paid minimum wage+ raises and tips where 10-15% is a decent tip
This stands out as inaccurate or fishy. I'm Canadian and we have the exact same tipping policies as the US. 10 - 20% depending on service. Some fast food places even have tip jars out.
I've tipped 25% before for great service. I hate fast-food joint tipping jars though. Even if it gets evenly distributed, I want the person who served me to get the tip, not split between everyone. The boss also gets a cut. And they make better wage than waiters.
In Canada waiters/waitresses make most of there money in tips too -_- I would have been offended
so do Canadians, you ignoramus.
Tips are not compulsory, and they are for doing a good job (they should be for doing more than your job but that's life) The minute you ask you become a beggar so get off your high horse and earn your living, not sitting back and expecting it all to fall into your lap
i doubt he actually ended his sentence with eh, we don't actually do that
Even AMERICANS do that. That and "huh", like "sucks to be you, huh/eh?"
Meh, it happens occasionally. But really rarely. I've actually heard Americans saying it when I talk to them. It's a common expression lots of people use.

That's basically asking for a tip. What a way to treat customers.
You were fishing for it but he was being a dick. I voted both.
