Today, I was walking my dog when I saw a man trying to get a screaming little girl into a van. I called 911 and ran over yelling at him. His wife then got out of the van and explained the girl was their daughter and they were just trying to make her go to school. FML

Hey guys OP here! I asked the little girl if that was her parents and she nodded but 911 told me they were still sending an officer to be 100% sure that everything was accurate. The parents completely understood and were totally fine because they were glad I cared and took action. :)

It was an honest mistake op. It's nice that you decided to take action instead of be a bystander! We need more people like you:)

Thank you for actually doing something to try to help rather than just take a video to post on YouTube later.

And you know that little girl is going to catch hell at home for causing a scene so rambunctious a stranger and police got involved. Heh.

Mad respect for you OP. You totally did the right thing. It is not easy to be an honourable citizen. Better safe than sorry. :)

At least they can be safe in the knowledge that if someone did try and kidnap their child you would help.

You did a good thing. There's an episode of "What would you do" where they stage an abduction and not many people did anything. We need more people like you in the world.

You did the right thing OP! I'm glad the parents weren't upset with you either.

I do appreciate you doing something when you thought the girl was in danger. I also understand how embarrassed the parents must've felt. When I take my little sister shopping, sometimes she gets mad and, while I hold her hand to try and keep her with me instead of running off, she tugs her hand away and yells "you're not my mom!" I get weird looks, and try to smile and wave at people like "Hi...yeah, I'm her sister..."

I really don't think this is an fml. you did the right thing and even though you were wrong you could have really saved a life. good for you
