Today, I was walking my dog when I saw a man trying to get a screaming little girl into a van. I called 911 and ran over yelling at him. His wife then got out of the van and explained the girl was their daughter and they were just trying to make her go to school. FML

Hey guys OP here! I asked the little girl if that was her parents and she nodded but 911 told me they were still sending an officer to be 100% sure that everything was accurate. The parents completely understood and were totally fine because they were glad I cared and took action. :)

as mortifying as that was, your heart was in the right place. you never know. As a parent I would hope someone would speak up if they saw (or thought they saw) my child being abducted.

It's great that you called. You could have saved her life. And the 'wife' could have been lying, unfortunately women help men do horrible things so at least the cops have your call to decide themselves.

Still, you did the right thing erring on the side of caution. It's much better than what could have happened had you done nothing and something had really been wrong.

You did the right thing. I'd rather have to explain the the police that I was wrong than to read about a kidnapping in the newspaper the next day and live my life knowing I could have done something to stop it.

at least you were acting instead of watching a potentially awful situation! I would prefer the cop hassle, as a parent, but know someone was looking out!
