Today, I was working as a lifeguard. A woman began to have a seizure. Nervous, I went into shock and walked into a tree, knocking myself out. Post seizure, the woman stood up and walked away. Later, I woke up in the hospital. The ambulance had arrived to take her, but ended up taking me instead. FML

This is an FML, but still a YDI. What if she was going into v-fib? You're a trained life guard, (as am I), you can't get overly nervous, and if you can't help it, then you shouldn't be a lifeguard.

Wow, I'm glad you're not a life guard in my neighborhood. Your response to life threatening situations should not be self-harm.

i'm not gonna say ydi, but if you can't handle a situation like that then you might wanna rethink being a lifeguard.

....Wow. But look at it this way: If this woman could really get away, then she must be in a somewhat healthy state. Worst case, she´ll have to call the hospital again. Therefore they could take care of you.

You're the worst lifeguard ever. I hope you got fired after this. What do you do when a kid is drowning? Swallow your tongue?

#86 The woman got up and walked away, but she didn't understand where she was or what was happening to her and she was probably in a good deal of pain. From experience, having a seizure leaves you in a neurologically and physically vulnerable state for days.

Yeah, I think you should look for a new job if you can't handle the stress of having other people's lives under your responsibility.

Seriously, how does one walk into a tree with such a strong impact?
