How did you know that her crying just didn't also sound like laughing? It seems to my parents and thee other people my laughing sounds like crying and my crying sounds like laughing sometimes weird since to me my laughing sounds like laughing and my crying sounds like crying

You can't think of kids as being capable of thinking in the same way as adults. They can't. Some young kids don't know what death is, and they're certainly unable to conceptualise it in the same way we do (ie as life being completely gone, that the person or animal has ceased to exist). I remember that as a small child I had very firm ideas about what death meant, but I'm pretty sure I was an early developer because my parents had explained death to me and I'd seen it first hand because I live in a rural area so lots of dead sheep, rabbits, etc. If it's something she's never seen or experienced, it could well look funny to her as she wouldn't recognise exactly what it meant.
