Alanis Morrissette said it best isn't it ironic don't you think
In New Zealand we don't call it 'middle school'. I'm guessing OP is referring to intermediate school
I've lived in New Zealand all my life. I went to "middle school" it just means they teach year 7 through to year 10.
I have also lived in New Zealand my whole life. Never have I encountered someone that calls it 'middle school' before.
I live in the US and I have always known them as elementary, middle, and high schools. I often run across people (other Americans even) who ask which primary school I went to, where is such-and-such transfer school and a few others I don't remember. I have no idea what those type of schools would be translated to in my way of speaking. Keep in mind that I live in a small town with only three elementary schools, three middle schools, and four high school. (Well there is also a preparatory school and a few private schools but I think that's a bit off topic. Like I am, right now. Ok, I'm done)
You have my sincerest, deepest, sympathies.
Sorry about your stressful day. I'm sure the firefighters were just as upset how busy the mineral pool was.
FYL, but TLIA.
Waiwera. My kid went. :) Sorry OP
How's that bad?
The best school trip I have been on is when the train caught fire... and that was boring..

Soaking in irony, and probably a lot of sweat and hormones too.
Oh the irony
