Why didn't you tell them first? How could you get engaged and wait for them to ask you about it?
Do parents really call people douchebags?
The good side is that when they realize you're still dating him they're gonna get pissed, and there's nothing they can do.
so you get engaged and your parents don't even know? what kinda dysfunctional family are you living in
Okay, here's my rant. A man should not ask a woman's FATHER for his PERMISSION BEFORE he proposes. He should ask for her PARENTS' BLESSING AFTER he proposes. Yes, there is a difference. "Permission" is asking if it's okay, while "blessing" is asking if they'll wush them a good life after they're married. However, it isn't mandatory in my opinion. To all of the "it's a thing of respect" people: Come into the 21st century, dipshits.
you stole this from four weddings and a funeral
And you stole the words from my mouth! :-D
I'll terrorize my girlfriend's parents with that. Thanks for letting me know. FYL

Parents never seem to approve of anyone's significant other for some reason.
he's your fiance && your parents weren't even told about it ? you think , telling them when prompted , that he's not your boyfriend anymore was a good way of breaking the news ? YDI .
