Today, I went out to meet a wonderful woman I'd chatted with online. I did have a few fears about if she was really just some guy trying to make a fool out of me. When I met her, she really was a girl, and was happy to see me. Problem: she was actually 13. I'm 34. FML

Today, I met and asked a cute girl out on a date. We decided to meet at a fancy restaurant downtown. When I got there I saw her sitting with what turned out to be her parents. They made a huge scene, calling me a pedophile and a low-life. Apparently, the girl was 16 years-old. I'm 25. FML

Today, I was finally going to break down my social barrier by going out on a date with a nice guy I recently met on a dating site. Just at the start of the date, he asked me how old I was, and out of pure nervousness, I blurted out, "12!" I'm 24. FML

Today, I went on a 70-mile drive to the next town over to finally meet this beautiful girl I had talked to online. To my surprise, she looked exactly how she did in her pictures, minus the ring on her finger and the fiancé who wanted to punch me in the face. FML

Today, I went on a date with someone I've been talking to online for weeks. Unfortunately, it turns out they'd used old photos and misrepresented themselves, and I didn't find them attractive at all. Even I'm not that desperate. We ended up having an awkward dinner and I couldn't wait for it to be over. FML

People keep blaming OP for not noticing she was younger somehow. It's highly possible she really was more mature and wasn't all "omqq ur so cute ily" like most 13 year olds. I was going online at 11 convincing guys I was 20 because I just wanted to talk personally with an adult and not be talked to like I was a child. But then again, I never continued any relationships or asked to meet any of them. I knew how to not get raped.

That's when you should have found a way to call her parents (saying you had to go to the rest room) & informed them of their daughter's stupidity & how she was online trying to meet adult men, then tell them to come retrieve her & get the hell out of there.
