@169 The ball ring case is what I was thinking too. It may not be the proposal of your dreams, but this isn't a dream world. This is a charming and funny story. You've just got to roll with it. I wouldn't get to hung up on this idea, or you clearly aren't ready for the life he is trying to offer you. If this is only on here because its not rose petals and candle-lit dinner romantic, then fine, but if you were so offended that you think your life is effed, then, well, enjoy the single life.

Boo to everyone saying "cliches suck" and "this guy's proposal sucks." If I love someone, I don't care what he says, as long as it's obvious he loves me. It's hard enough to propose as is, give all the poor guys out there a break for proposing in the way they are comfortable doing so.

This is not a FML. This is adorable. If I were to ever be proposed to like that, I'd laugh...and then say yes. Props to the guy who proposed, I'm sure it's a bit nerve-wracking anyway, so maybe he proposed like that to lighten his nerves. Anyways, he PROPOSED!! Say yes and enjoy the guy you have.
