Today, I went out with my family and boyfriend for dinner. We were all having a good time, and suddenly at the end of dinner he decides to kneel down on one knee, take out an engagement ring, and say "I choose you, Pikachu," with a straight face. He was serious. FML

what a terrible way to propose, nothing charming, adorable, or romantic about it. Being proposed to is a pretty definitive memory, no? So I wouldn't want my future fiance to be proposing to me with the help of some cheesy kids' show motto. seriously. so I hope the people that are going "awww" are: 1. asian and into manga/anime/pokemon/etc or 2. caucasian and REALLY into anime/etcc

who says proposals have to be romantic and so cliche? as long as its original, i think its better than the typical roses, wine, candles shenanigan. yeah its a definitive memory, and i think id remember how my husband proposed if he used that line. some people have a sense of humor and would think its cute and actually PREFER it over something corny. obviously not the op but hey... i know i would.
