Today, I went out with my mom to a restaurant. We were sitting down to eat, and a waitress walks over to our table and asks, "How are you ladies doing tonight?" It really was a nice thing to ask, for my mom. As for me, being a man, not so much. FML

You should respond in the deepest voice you can muster, "Great how about you?"

I get confused with Sasquatch all the time so don't worry about it.

As a server I've accidentally mis gendered people, not because they look like the opposing gender but because the job itself makes you scatter brained and messing up something like a greeting is easy to do. Obviously one does try to avoid this, but in my experience it's usually been an accident.

#37 nothing personal here, but the best solution is not to address strangers by gendered terms. Makes it easier on everyone.

I used to do that when I worked as a barista, but there are people out there who get all mad because you're "being rude," "impolite," or "discourteous". It can be really tricky either way.

You should have retorted without missing a beat.. We are doing very good. Thanks for asking Sir!!!

Happens to me all the time, don't sweat it, op!

I know that feeling. However, it just doesn't feel right headbanging with short hair to me so I still have long hair. Sadly not quite as long as I want it, but still somewhat long.

As a trans guy who doesn't really pass, I get this all the time. I know people are being polite, but it still hurts a bit. I feel ya.
