He obviously WAS cheating on her; He started the FML saying that he really liked the girl (who was not his gf), and only hung out with her because her gf was busy and supposed to be none the wiser, they went shopping together to make dinner together, at one of their houses. If cooking and eating dinner together between two people who like each other isn't a date, than what is?? P.S. going on a date with someone who is NOT your gf/bf is cheating...

I'm amazed how stupid some people can be. Liking another person does not equal being involved with them. OP said he went shopping together. Yes he did mention having dinner with said girl too, but I had lunch with this guy once and our relationship is purely platonic. Sure, if something happened *after* dinner...then that would be bad. But as long as they keep all their interactions at a friends-only basis, then there's nothing wrong.
