dont u have a birth certificate? or passport? they work as ID as well
People...its common sense DON'T CARRY YOUR SS CARD WITH YOU
My sister lost her daughter's social security number. When she tried to get a new card, they said they needed the child's ID. Who was not even a month old. She had a birth certificate and documents, but even that wasn't enough. My niece is now 3 months old and still without a social security card. So, FYL. I hope you are luckier than we are.
you deserve it for keeping your social security card in your wallet.
https://www.socialsecurity.gov/pubs/10514.html - Identification for U.S. Citizens (Children) http://www.socialsecurity.gov/pubs/10512.html - Identification for U.S. Citizens (Adults) Anything Social Security takes has to be certified by the agency/organization/government that gave it to you, which is to say it needs a stamp certifying where it came from. Every place of business has a business stamp they can use for official documents. Also, it needs to have a signature of the certifying agent. What Social Security looks for is a name (as it appears on the last card) and something they can compare to their records. Best options are shot records, medical records from the last doctor's visit (or the discharge papers from your newborn's birth), or a high school or college transcript. It's all online. Oh yeah, and stop carrying your card with you. Also, do not laminate it. Yes, I work for Social Security.
Same thing happened to me, but I just showed them my birth certificate and they gave me a state I.D
I work for the Social Security office and all you need is a photo id. Not a drivers license. If you have another photo id like a work or student id it will work :)
dude, you should never carry your social with you except when crossing the border or a job interview. I just keep mine in my phone under a fake name so I'll have it if i ever need to know it. but I feel bad for you. :( that reminds me...where the hell is mine? :/

Wow. You probably shouldn't be carrying around your SS card though..
Or your birth certificate...duh.
