Today, I went to go get a new ID because my wallet was stolen, which had my social security card in it as well. I found out that to get your ID you have to have your social security card, and to get your social security card, you need your ID. FML

Today, I was told I can't renew my Identity Card without a Social Security Card, and I can't get a replacement Social Security Card without an Identity Card. FML

Today, my wallet got stolen. I don't have a photo ID to get a temporary debit card, and since I don't have a debit card, I can't go to the DMV to get a new license. FML

Today, I got a change of ID. My old ID had its corner cut off and was given a temporary paper ID. I went to a bar in another town to have some drinks. Turns out I couldn't because they couldn't use my old ID or my temporary one to let me drink, even though I'm 22. I've been there before and I work at my town's liquor store. FML

Today, I misplaced my wallet. Fortunately, I knew exactly where it was. Unfortunately, I had just taken out the only form of picture ID that morning. I couldn't stop the finders from laughing as they saw my fake celebrity entertainment ID while I tried to convince them it was actually my wallet. FML

Today, I went to go get my driver's license, only to be told that I need a copy of my birth certificate. In order to get the copy of my birth certificate, I need a driver's license or my passport. In order to get a passport, I need a copy of my birth certificate or a drivers license. I have none. FML

Today, I had gone to the store and bought a new wallet. 5 minutes later a security guard asks for my receipt. Turns out I had dropped my receipt. Some guy had picked it up and pretended I had stole his wallet. The guard confiscated my wallet because the guy had "his" receipt to prove it. FML

Sucks for you getting your wallet stolen, but carrying your SS card around with you is just a terrible idea to begin with. Unless you need it for a specific (and temporary) purpose, it should be locked away somewhere.

That does suck, I know because something similar happened to me. I was getting my first ID and my mom had lost my social security card, we couldn't just use my birth certificate because both the social security card and ID required more than one form of identification, two being an ID and a social security card.

YDI it kinda for keeping your ssc with you. I would keep it in a safe and keep a copy with me or nothing at all. Also the guy could be posing as you now so u might want to get that checked.

hey retards. this is why you keep your social security card AT HOME not in your wallet. not being able to get an id should be the least of your worries. I would be worried about identity theft and people opening up lines of credit in my name. dumbass. YDI
